Not setting this option would break your driver's build. Also, I'd call this as early as possible. As I said, this removes other drivers. Calling vmap during the atomic scren update could lead to a deadlock. So it's not actually allowed. We got away with it so far, but I recently cleaned this up. Vmappings have to be established/removed in prepare_fb and cleanup_fb. But there's a helper to do that. drm_gem_atomic_helper.h contains plane-state functionality for shadow-buffered planes. It provies the mapping for your code. You won't have to do aynthing. It looks like you based your code on the cirrus driver?
