F9+ctrl also have the same meaning. Yes this is necessary, all functions which are only used during module_load / from the module's init function must be marked as __init so that the kernel can unload them after module loading is done. Please just put the cdev struct inside struct privacy_wmi_data and call dell_privacy_leds_setup() with the wmi-dev as parameter from dell_privacy_wmi_probe and have the wmi-dev as the parent of the led_classdev.
