In a single-entity scheduling, surely peeking at the single entity of a scheduler, can be done easier. I'm asking as none of these functions were intended as a peek-only/-capable solution, and if you need it, this shows that the infrastructure lacks something which you need. It's not designed for "peek", as you can see above: it gets passed-through the function stack until it reaches core functionality to be used in logic. I think this fine if I am reading the code correctly.
