If you don't have access to all of that information, not adding it is acceptable, but it will make the driver harder to maintain & extend going forward. I think you can look at lt9611[2] & lt9611uxc[3] for inspiration. A related issue is that this device has two I2C addresses, which doesn't fit super neatly into the I2C driver model[1]. Since both addresses can't be provided by the DT, method one doesn't fit this driver. Method 2 doesn't fit well either, since the I2C bus isn't internal to the device. And 3&4 are not applicable. I'd say the two options are #1 splitting this driver, #2 keeping it like it is. I'm leaning towards #2 since both addresses correspond to a physical chip.
