Are you also going to convert isert over to the new API?

I really don't think we should support two different signature/integrity
APIs going forward.

Sure.

This is the next step (mentioned in the cover letter).

I prefer to do it incrementally since it's already a big change without it.

The goal is to have the current patchset merged during 5.1 merge window 
and update the isert during rc2/rc3 if possible.
