A new helper is available, so use it. Inspecting 'users' member of
input_dev requires taking device's mutex.

The mutex doesn't really protect anything here, but I would nevertheless
suggest this sequence instead:

lock()
while (test) {
	unlock()
	...
	lock()
}
unlock()
