a=openpgp; fpr=57CE4C7F6375710FCB65C6063ED59F248E468C7F In 9b1cb5070f (builtin: add a repository parameter for builtin functions, 2024-09-13) the repository was passed down to all builtin commands. This allowed the repository to be passed down to lower layers without depending on the global `the_repository` variable. To remove usage of global variables like `the_repository` in sub-commands, it makes sense to pass down the repository value from the commands to the sub-commands. But let's make it more generic and modify `parse_opt_subcommand_fn` to instead take a `void *` value. This way we can provide custom structures to each sub-command. Signed-off-by: Karthik Nayak --- This patch was part of my series to clean up the midx.c and midx-write.c files from using global variables [1]. Since this patch stands on its own, I've split it from the series. This should help merging this quicker since it affects a lot more files but is isolated to one patch. I will re-send a new version of the series to depend on this patch. This patch conflicts with 'gitster/bf/set-head-symref' on seen. But it is not a dependency and the resolution should be simple enough. Happy to resend after merging that in if needed.
